Fundraising and Environment
Lake Imaging's Corporate Responsibility program began as a staff initiative to coordinate our company's charitable fundraising. It has since evolved into a coordinated effort to make real improvements in people's lives by concentrating on specific programs. Each year, our fundraising efforts are focused towards a charity of choice. Over three years we have raised more than $60,000 for Cops ‘n Kids, Rainbow Riders, the 2009 Bushfire appeal and other organizations.
Direct input by our people is essential because our program involves more than simply raising money and sending it off to a distant organisation.
In 2010, we are supporting the Kids-Plus program in Geelong and again the Cops ‘n Kids in Ballarat.
The impact of these charitable programs was well expressed by a Lake Imagining staff member who attended a Cops ‘n Kids summer camp:
"Last of all was our train ride, which was the perfect opportunity to reflect on the last couple of days. I couldn't stop thinking about the whole weekend and how inspirational these children were. They really opened my eyes and made me appreciate life. This trip really was a life changing experience for me and I can't wait to head off again next year."
Our Corporate Responsibility committee is also charged with helping us reduce our environmental footprint. 2009 saw us complete an environmental audit with the assistance of the Gordon TAFE - Geelong. We are already well on our way to achieving an additional target of a further 10% energy reduction and %15 in solid waste.
