LAKE IMAGING TO SERVICE THE WEST
If you have been for an x-ray or scan lately, you may have noticed a new radiology service in town. In fact it’s the same reliable service, location and friendly local staff as before, just with a new name; Lake Imaging.
Many of you may know of Western District Radiology operating from St John of God Hospital, who has provided radiology services to the Warrnambool region since 1990. In 2016, Lake Imaging added Western District Radiology to its portfolio of diagnostic imaging services, and with Warrnambool radiologists Dr. Sean Rogan and Dr. Nick Houghton retiring from radiology in March this year, it is timely to make the switch and formally rebrand to Lake Imaging.
In 2002, Lake Imaging began as a single radiology practice in Wendouree and was the first private practice in Australia to adopt a fully-integrated digital imaging (filmless) solution. Today, Lake Imaging is the leading diagnostic radiology provider in central and western Victoria, providing patients and referrers access to exceptional expertise, experience and state-of-the-art imaging equipment.
Lake Imaging General Manager Mr. Dan Hilbert, says “as a company, we are proud to have seen our business grow and expand from one small regional service to a total of 26 centres state-wide. We have also made every effort to retain local employees from Western District Radiology and the people of Warrnambool can be assured that Lake Imaging will continue to offer the best possible service to both patients and referring practitioners”.
As part of the Integral Diagnostic Group, which also includes South Coast Radiology in Queensland and Global Diagnostics in Perth, the combined clinical groups are now the fourth largest radiographer provider in the country. In the heart of the Parkville precinct, Lake Imaging’s newly created Specialist and Research Centre in North Melbourne is leading the way in medical imaging research and will support regional clinics, together with Geelong, Ballarat and St John of God Hospitals.
